All Pikes Peak Reads 2004

General Information

All Pikes Peak Reads (APPR) is a community-wide literary program designed to get everyone in El Paso County to read and discuss the same book each year. The project offers an opportunity for families to read together, promotes literacy for all ages, and generates discussion across social, cultural, and generational lines.

APPR 2004 features Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson, one of the best-loved adventure stories of all time. Stevenson's tale explores coming of age, trust and honesty, and identifying what is valuable in our lives. The project will incorporate these themes in a variety of activities for children, teens, adults, and families scheduled at sites throughout the community.

APPR 2004 is sponsored by the Pikes Peak Library District Foundation, The Gazette, The Gay & Lesbian Fund for Colorado, the Colorado Springs Independent, UCCS TheatreWorks, Colorado Endowment for the Humanities, Pikes Peak Community College, and the Friends of the Pikes Peak Library District.

Presented by the Pikes Peak Library District.
