Calvin Otto

Calvin Otto moved to
Colorado Springs from Virginia, where he was president of the Friends of
the Library (Charlottesville), president of the Associates of the
University of Virginia Libraries, a director of the
Charlottesville-Albemarle Library Foundation, and a director of the
Friends of Virginia Libraries. He was also a director of the Virginia
Foundation of the Humanities and founded its Virginia Festival of the Book
in 1994, where he served as chair until 2002. He is the current Secretary
for the Board.
Mr. Otto became involved with the Pikes Peak Library District shortly
after arriving in town. He became the community chairperson for All Pikes
Peak Reads in 2002 and continues in that position today.
Cal’s professional
background includes extensive experience in book publishing with Prentice
Hall, Hampton Roads Publishing Co., and Vermont Heritage Press, and as an
editorial consultant for Acropolis Books and Howell Press.
