Recently, The United States Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) changed its guidelines for mammography. The Task Force no longer recommends mammograms for women aged 40 to 49 and now recommends biennial screening for women aged 50 to 74 years of age. The American Cancer Society, however, urges women to continue their annual mammograms starting at age 40.
To learn more, please follow these links to the USPSTF recommendation as well as the response from the American Cancer Society.
