Purchase of photographs or otherwise obtaining images of or from the
collections constitutes agreement to comply with these conditions:
- It is the responsibility of the applicant to obtain permission to
publish from the copyright owner. The Pikes Peak Library District
assumes no responsibility for infraction of copyright laws, invasion
of privacy, or any other improper or illegal use that may arise from
reproduction of any image. The applicant agrees to hold PPLD and its
agents harmless against any and all claims arising or resulting from
the use of this image and shall indemnify PPLD and its agents for
any and all costs and damages arising or resulting from any such
unauthorized use.
- The Pikes Peak Library District reserves the right to limit the
number of photographic copies; to restrict the use for reproduction
of rare or valuable material; to ensure that the use of
reproductions is consistent with the mission of the Library; to make
special quotations on material involving unusual difficulty in
copying; and to charge a higher copying fee than specified for a
small number of special items.
- All reproduced photographs must be credited as follows:
"Courtesy, Pikes Peak Library District" followed by the
photographer or artist if known. The credit line should appear
on the same or facing page as the illustrations or in the
"Sources of Illustrations" section. Every item must be
credited separately. With exhibitions, credit should be shown within
the exhibit area.
- All prints for personal, research or display use will have a gold
property stamp in the lower corner reading "Pikes Peak Library
District".
- One complimentary copy of any publication or reproduction using
Library materials must be sent to the library within 3 months of the
publication date.
- Requests for copies of graphic items intended for single mass
reproductions into formats such as posters, post cards, or note
cards, may be subject to special contractual procedures and fees.
- Requests for image adjustment such as cropping, overprinting, or
bleeding the page edge must be made in writing and approved in
advance.
- There is a Processing
Fee for all photograph reprints. Commercial use of images requires an
additional fee.
