About the Youth Advisory Council (YAC)

  • The Youth Advisory Council's mission is to
    • Plan teen library programs.
    • Encourage teens to be more creative with their time and talents.
    • Erase negative stereotypes of libraries and encourage teen use of the Library.

  • Membership is open to teens in grades 6-12 who are between the ages 11-18.  YAC members cannot join YAC past 12th grade or age 18, but current members may stay past 12th grade or age 18.
  • To join the Youth Advisory Council, fill out the online membership application form or pick up a paper form at any Library Branch and turn it into the East Library.  If you have any questions, please contact the Youth Advisory Council Staff Coordinator, Susi Bonato, at 531-6333, x1309.
