Friends of the Pikes Peak Library District Winter 2011 Book Sale
The Friends of the Pikes Peak Library District’s Winter Book Sale will run January 28 - 30 at East Library (5550 N. Union Blvd.) in the Community Meeting Room. Only Friends Members are invited on Friday, January 28 from 4 - 7 p.m. The general public is welcome on Saturday, January 29, from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. On Sunday, January 30, there will be a $5 bag sale for the public from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m., with bags supplied by the Friends.
Friends of PPLD contributes considerably to the library district in myriad ways. By joining the Friends, membership dues help renovate libraries, construct new libraries, support library staff events, sponsor the Betty Field Youth Mystery Writing Contest, fund the Golden Quill and Frank Waters author awards, and provide volunteers for book sales, Mountain of Authors, and Pikes Peak Regional History Symposium.
If interested in joining Friends, applications can be found in Friends bookstores at all PPLD locations and online at friendsppld.org. You can purchase a membership at the door upon arrival at the book sale. If you register online, bring your receipt and receive a membership card at the door. If you wish to help out with the book sale, get in touch with the event’s coordinator at (719) 531-6333, x2460 or x1008.
Proceeds from the book sale directly aid the Friends in carrying out projects that benefit PPLD. For further information on the book sale or the Friends organization, visit friendsppld.org.
