Playaway is the newest audiobook format which combines a small two-ounce player and an entire digital audiobook. The product is so simple that it provides accessibility to audio anytime, anywhere for virtually any type of library user. The format has been popular among children and teens who enjoy having a portable player, adults who enjoy catching up with the latest bestsellers while on-the-go, and older adults, including the visually impaired, who don’t have to worry about transferring content to a player or learning a new piece of technology. Playaways are literally as simple as pressing play and provide additional user-friendly features such as holding the spot in the story when the device is turned off, and the ability to adjust the speed of the narrator’s voice without affecting sound quality.

The library carries more than 1,100 titles on Playaway, including many selections for children, language learning programs, bestselling adult fiction, and classics. And because Playaway’s format is friendly for listeners of all ages, every patron can enjoy the new format.
