What’s Your Favorite Character?

My husband and I are reading Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland out loud to each other. We are currently at “The Lobster Quadrille”. So far, I think the Cheshire Cat is the most reasonable, and therefore refreshing, of the characters. However, I find myself preferring the Mock Turtle, with its cow-head and cloven hooves a personification of its pun-driven conversation with Alice and the Gryffon.
