Calling all green thumbs!

The 1905 Carnegie Library Public Garden is ready for spring planting!

If you have a green thumb, your talents are needed this spring to plant more trees, shrubs, and flowers in the 1905 Carnegie Library Public Garden.

Located at 20 W. Kiowa St., the garden will include artwork, a demonstration garden, a shaded space for children’s storytimes, and a stage for public performances.

We wish to thank the more than 225 donors and volunteers who have helped amend the soil, install stonework, irrigation, and a fence, purchased and laid sod, and donated benches and an arbor.

The 1905 Carnegie Garden Comittee has commissioned local artist Judi Elias-Ochs to create a recognition sculpture in the form of a tree. The leaves will be inscribed with the names of donors who contribute $100 or more toward the endowment or who contribute unrestricted gifts.

Stone pavers are still available for inscription with a donation of $150 for a 6″ x 12″ and $230 for a 12″ x 12″ paver.

For more information, please call the Pikes Peak Library District Foundation at 531-6333, x2205, or email the Foundation.
