55+ Beginning Computer Class Series

When: Wednesday, December 07, 2016 - 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Where: Penrose Library - 20 North Cascade at Penrose Computer Lab

Meeting for 2 class sessions, students will learn to hold, move, and click a computer mouse. They will become familiar with the different cursor icons, the parts of a computer, practice simple navigation in a windows environment, and learn how to enter information using the keyboard. This is a class for people who have never used a computer. Patron will be signing up for both classes.

Coloring for Adults

When: Wednesday, December 07, 2016 - 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Where: Library21c -1175 Chapel Hills Drive at Make (Clean Maker Space)

Join us once a month for coloring and light conversation. Pages and coloring utensils will be provided, but you are also encouraged to share what you have worked on. No registration is necessary. Program for patrons 18+.

Yoga Foundations

Yoga Foundations. Join Jen and PPLD staff for an hour long yoga class @ Venue21c! All experience levels welcome. Bring your own mat.

Make II Open Hours

When: Wednesday, December 07, 2016 - 1:00 PM - 6:00 PM
Where: Library21c -1175 Chapel Hills Drive at Make II (Messy Maker Space)

During Open Hours, Make II is available for patrons to work on their own projects while a PPLD staff member is present. Equipment and supplies are available on a first come basis. Patrons must be badged to use a machine during a separate appointment before being able to use the machines in open hours. To inquire about badging, please call 719-884-9800, x 6364.

All patrons in the space must be at least 9 years old. 9-11 year olds must be accompanied by a guardian at all times. Parent/guardian supervision is welcome for all minors over age 12.

Knit One & Crochet Too

Where: East Library - 5550 N. Union Blvd. at Annex

Bring a project to work on, share ideas, and socialize with fellow knitters and crocheters. No registration required.

55+ Beginning Computer Class Series

Meeting for 2 class sessions, students in this class will cover a different topic each class related to basic computer skills (This class uses computers with the Windows 7 operating system).

Patron will be signing up for both classes.

Knitting

Where: Monument Library - 1706 Lake Woodmoor Drive at Monument Meeting Room

An intergenerational knitting group that meets the first and third Wednesday of each month. Practice materials are provided, but attendees are encouraged to bring their own materials! Some instruction provided for those new to the world of knitting.

Light-up Holiday Decorations

Use LED lights to turn recycled holiday cards into fun light-up decorations! Bring your own old cards or use one that we provide.

Studio Orientation Class

When: Wednesday, December 07, 2016 - 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM
Where: Library21c Special Rooms-1175 Chapel Hills Drive at The Studio

Interested in using Library 21c’s innovative a/v production studio? Whether you’re creating your first masterpiece or are a seasoned professional, the Studio offers the equipment and resources to produce original content for television, radio and the web. The Orientation course guides patrons through studio policies and procedures, and is the first step toward using the facility for independent projects.
 
This course is required training to use the Studio. Attendees must be at least 9 years of age. Children under 14 years of age must be accompanied by a parent.

This class will help adults without a high school diploma prepare to take the GED, HiSET, or TASC high school equivalency exams. Registration is required. Monument Teen Creative Writing Group

Digital Sculpting with Meshmixer

When: Wednesday, December 07, 2016 - 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM
Where: Library21c -1175 Chapel Hills Drive at Petritz Learning Lab

Looking for a different way to create 3D Models? Meshmixer gives you the power to sculpt chunks of digital clay to create unique shapes. From sculptures, to unique faces, to monstrous animal combinations, Digital Sculpting opens up the more freeform organic side of 3D Modeling.

This class is for advanced computer users who are very comfortable with computer navigation and have experience using a variety of software including Microsoft Office products. Attending the "Intro to 3D Modeling with 123D Design" class is highly recommended.

This class is best suited for students 12 and over. Students 9-11 must be accompanied by an adult.

Yoga for Stress Management

Yoga for Stress Management - Learn to manage or relieve your stress through yoga. Join Shelly for an hour long yoga class. Wear comfortable clothing and bring a mat or towel. All experience levels welcome.

Amateur Hour Painting Party!

English as a Second Language (ESL)

For adults wanting to improve their workplace and every day English language skills. Classes provide instruction in reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Registration is required. Tai Chi

When: Thursday, December 08, 2016 - 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM
Where: Penrose Library - 20 North Cascade at Penrose Carnegie Reading Room

Learn the fundamentals of Tai Chi in this free, hour long class. Students will learn the basics of posture, strength, relaxation, movement and breathing. Wear comfortable clothing and footwear.
