Healthy Living @ PPLD

Deb Prewitt of Blue Twig Studio will teach you the joy of using the Zentangle method. The Zentangle method is easy-to-learn, relaxing and fun. It increases focus and creativity, provides artistic satisfaction, and helps to de-stress and relax you. This is a 4-class series with each class building on what was learned before. Upon completion of the 4-class series, students will take home a Zentangle kit. Space is limited. For ages 12 and up. To register, stop by the Reference Desk or call (719) 531-6333, ext. 1314. AARP Smart Driver Course

The cost for the course is $15 for members of AARP, and $20 for non-members. We prefer payment in the form of checks made out to AARP, but we will accept cash.
Any aged person may attend, but the Insurance Discount only applies to those 55 years old and above.
Court Directed persons (those who need a class to regain a driver’s license that the Court has held) are welcomed. Our Instructors are authorized to sign off related court documents.
The class lasts 4 hours
Class sign-in begins 15 minutes prior to the class.
Pre-class reservations are requested, but we may accept a few walk-ins, space and materials limited.

Rescue Sewing Basics: How to keep your clothes looking good

This class will cover hand sewing techniques for quick and relatively simple repairs you can make to your clothing to save you a trip to the seamstress. Save money, save time, learn how to do it yourself with a few simple tools and some very basic stitches. All the methods used for making repairs will be taught by making a simple fabric key fob/chapstick holder or a small button closed bag to take with you at the end of the class. NO Previous sewing skills needed, no machines needed.

Attendee must be 16 Years or older.

Sewing 2 - Intermediate

When: Monday, June 06, 2016 - 2:00 PM - 3:30 PM

In this 2-class series, students will learn to sew a pillow cover with a zipper and piping. In order to take this class, students must have completed Sewing 1 and/or have complete knowledge of sewing notions, basic fabric preparation, pressing, and sewing machine skills. For ages 18 and up. Space is limited. Registration is required.
