Boho Floral Crown Workshop

When: Saturday, May 07, 2016 - 11:30 AM - 1:00 PM
Where: Penrose Library - 20 North Cascade at Aspen Room

This free class will teach you the fundamentals of creating wearable art! We will create a floral crown for you and your child, or a gift you can give your mom for Mother's Day. Leave with your very own floral crown, and if you want to wear it out, we strongly encourage that! All supplies and tools will be provided.
Ages 10 and up. Ages 10-11 must be accompanied by an adult.

Minding Your Business

Learn how to research starting or growing a business or how to find a job in Minding Your Business. This class covers print sources, electronic databases and websites to help find information on industry, competition, vendors, financials, and more.

Self-Defense Strategies

Join Sterling Chase from CHS Martial Arts for this six week introductory course to self-defense. Participants will receive a certificate upon completion of the course. Please wear comfortable clothing and footwear.

Microsoft Excel I Class

When: Thursday, May 12, 2016 - 8:30 AM - 10:00 AM
Where: Penrose Library - 20 North Cascade at Penrose Computer Lab

Learn how to set up, manipulate, and format a basic spreadsheet. Prerequisites: experience using a computer mouse and keyboard, Introduction to Microsoft Word.

Learn the fundamentals of Tai Chi in this free, hour long class. Students will learn the basics of posture, strength, relaxation, movement and breathing. Wear comfortable clothing and footwear.

Word I Class

When: Saturday, May 14, 2016 - 8:30 AM - 10:00 AM
Where: Penrose Library - 20 North Cascade at Penrose Computer Lab

In this class you will become familiar with basic word processing skills necessary to create and save word documents by learning to read the Microsoft Word screen and entering and manipulating basic text.
Prerequisites: Completion of (55+) Computer Basics and experience using a mouse and keyboard

Garden Design Class

Where: Penrose Library - 20 North Cascade at Pine Room

Becky, from Pikes Peak Permaculture, will teach us how to design a pollinator-friendly garden. The PPLD Green Team will be converting one of the pieces of land near their vegetable garden into a pollinatorsÂ’ haven. We will use this space as an example and have hands-on experience, considering water, soil, drainage, sun exposure, etc. Take what you learn here and apply it at home to create your very own amazing flower garden!
