Guided Meditation

Destress and relax Thursday evenings with our Guided Meditation program. Pillows and chairs will be set up, bring a mat if you'd like. Session includes music and guided and silent meditation with our presenter Gina. Make this free session an essential part of your week, you won't regret it.

Toddler Time

One and two-year-old children, with a favorite adult, participate in nursery rhymes, music and movement, and listen to a few short books. Toddler Time builds on familiar experiences to introduce new vocabulary and word sounds in a lively atmosphere. Open to the first twenty families who arrive. (20-25 minutes)

Device/Computer Help Drop-in Lab

Where: Penrose Library - 20 North Cascade at Penrose Bay Area

For patrons with specific trouble shooting needs or help beyond the materials covered in other library computer classes. If the user just needs beginner instruction, sign them up for computer basics, internet basics, word, etc. Remind the patron to bring their device to the appointment if possible.

Toddler Time

One,two and three-year-old children, with a favorite adult, participate in nursery rhymes, music and movement, and listen to a few short books. Toddler Time builds on familiar experiences to introduce new vocabulary and word sounds in a lively atmosphere. Program lasts 15-20 minutes.

Tai Chi Basics

Storytime

Where: Old Colorado City Library - 2418 West Pikes Peak at Old Colorado City Meeting Room

Children ages 3 and up, with a favorite adult, experience stories through books, flannelboards, puppets, songs and activities. This program encourages emerging reading skills by engaging children with shapes, sounds, rhythm and rhyme in a playful environment.

Play & Learn

This open play time is a great way for your child to play with early literacy based toys and games such as puzzles, blocks, puppets, etc. For ages 0-5, with a caring adult. No registration required.

Spring Break @the Library: Cool Science

Ice cream science! We'll learn how ice cream is made by making our own... in less than 5 minutes! To do this we'll use one of the coldest substances in the world - liquid nitrogen - and see just what it can do to ordinary materials.

Shake those wiggles out and have some fun! This program consists of music and movement activities and a story. For 2 and 3-year-olds, with a favorite adult.

Come read, rhyme and rock! A very interactive storytime that engages children ages two to five and their favorite adults in stories and songs in which everyone participates. After storytime, we invite you to stay and play with us! We’ll have fun toys, games and activities to enhance your child’s early literacy learning!

MAKE @ East Open Hours

During Open Hours MAKE @ East is available for patrons to work on their own projects while a trained PPLD staff member is present. Equipment and supplies are available on a first come basis.

All patrons in the space must be at least 9 years old. Ages 9-11 must be accompanied by a guardian at all times. Parent/guardian supervision is welcome for all minors over age 12.

Fifth Friday: Yarn-Dyeing Workshop

When: Friday, March 31, 2017 - 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM
Where: Rockrimmon Library - 832 Village Center Drive at Rockrimmon Meeting Room

Students will join instructor Deb Greer as she guides the class in dyeing cotton yarn, using the space dyeing method. Each participant will go home with their own skein and a free dishcloth pattern to use it! All supplies and equipment provided for this free class. Space is limited to the first 12 registrants ages 18+.
