PPLD Employment FAQs
How do I find out if PPLD is hiring?
You can find PPLD's job announcements at:
- PPLD’s website
- On occasion: local public service agencies, The Gazette and other area newspapers; professional and managerial positions (often advertised in professional journals, out-of-town newspapers, and library-related websites)
Where can I turn in my completed job application?
Online applications and uploaded materials are accepted at PPLD.org on the Applications tab. Paper applications are NO longer accepted.
What is your closing date policy?
Applications must be received by the closing date. Immediately following the closing date, qualified applications are sent to the hiring manager. In instances where a position’s closing date is listed as "open until filled," qualified applications are sent to the hiring manager approximately every two weeks.
How can I tell the status of a job for which I've applied?
You can check the status of jobs here. Candidates that are interviewed and not selected for a position will be notified by mail.
Why do I lose my information on the application when I click, “Upload Application Materials”?
Your internet connection has experienced a break in service. By clicking on the “Upload” button, you are refreshing the page. It is recommended that you utilize a computer with a high speed internet connection. PPLD provides computers dedicated to applicants at Penrose and East libraries.
Can I save my application and complete it at a later time?
Unfortunately, the software requires the applicant to complete the application process in one sitting.
What types of file formats do you accept for application materials?
*Other formats are not recognized by our software
What if I have a disability that prevents me from completing the application?
If you require an accommodation to complete your application, please contact the Human Resources Office at (719) 531-6333 x1254.
Where can I find the full details of an available position?
Click on the job title under the Jobs/PPLD Vacancies to view the schedule, hourly wage, benefits (if applicable), essential functions and minimum qualifications of the job. Some positions require an applicant to submit an essay(s) to be eligible for consideration. Specific details regarding the essay, topic and length are included on the full vacancy announcement.
My family member works at PPLD, can I apply?
PPLD welcomes family members, however our policy does not allow family members to work in the same department or supervise each other.
