Windows 8.1 Basics

Make II Open Hours

During Open Hours, Make II is available for patrons to work on their own projects while a PPLD staff member is present. Equipment and supplies are available on a first come basis. Patrons must be badged to use a machine during a separate appointment before being able to use the machines in open hours. To inquire about badging, please call 719-884-9800, x 6364.

All patrons in the space must be at least 9 years old. 9-11 year olds must be accompanied by a guardian at all times. Parent/guardian supervision is welcome for all minors over age 12.

LOOSEN UP!- This class offers 30 minutes of mindful movements specifically designed to be gentle on the joints while increasing flexibility. According to the Arthritis Foundation, people with various types of arthritis who have a regular practice of movement and stretching reported significant reduction in pain and joint stiffness and improvements in physical function. Join us in a fun and interactive setting. All adults of all fitness and ability levels welcome.

AfterMath

No appointments - Drop in! This runs from 3:30 to 6 p.m.
We will not have AfterMath in the case of holidays or school weather closures.

Afinia 3D Printer Badging Class

When: Wednesday, May 04, 2016 - 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM
Where: Library21c -1175 Chapel Hills Drive at Make II (Messy Maker Space)

Participants will get hands-on time to experiment with our Afinia H480 3D Printers. You will learn all the steps required to run the 3D Printer using sample 3D Models provided in the class. Four 3D printers will be available during this session, so be prepared to partner up!

Additional Notes:
- Bring your library card to get badged for using the 3D Printer during Make II Open Hours.
- Children 9-11 must be accompanied by an adult.
- Because of the short printing time, we cannot accommodate custom 3D models during this session.
- Participants may finish their prints before the end of the class, but print completion is not guaranteed.

21st Century Writers

An active writing group for adults interested in learning more about the craft and business of writing. The group meets the first Thursday of every month from 6-8PM where they provide writing critiques, discuss the craft of writing, and work on writing prompts in fiction and non-fiction.

Career Conversations: Legal & Criminal Justice

Professionals from different career fields break it down for teens in a panel discussion that explores the ups and downs of occupations. Each month will feature a different career path group. Professionals from the legal and criminal justice system will discuss their careers.

Guided Meditation

When: Thursday, May 05, 2016 - 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Guided Meditation - Wear comfortable clothing. Mats optional, chairs provided. Gina will guide you in a nondenominational approach to meditation that combines healing, mental grounding and stress relief.

The hour-long practice goes through 5 phases of stillness:
1) Creating intention,
2) Establishing a peaceful and judgement-free space,
3) Connecting to earthly and universal love,
4) Mentally acknowledging and calming the physical belief from head to toe,
5) Final 10 minute silent meditation.
