Looking for support and feedback from other writer's? Do you want to explore new structures and techniques in your writing? Would you like to try writing some poetry or give memoir writing a shot? Drop in and play with a fun writing prompt, or bring something you are already working on! This group offers 12-18 year old writers a chance to grow as writers and help others do the same.

Plantation Slave Weavers Remember

Colorado Springs fiber artist and author, Mary Madison, will tell stories of the Southern plantation slave weavers and textile workers. She will have slide presentation and oral histories taken from former slaves. Copies of her book, Plantation Slave Weavers Remember will be available for those interested. The program will last one hour. Everyone is welcome.

The 100th Anniversary of the Pikes Peak Hill Climb

A History of the Pikes Peak Hill Climb
100th Anniversary
1916 – 2016

Donald Sanborn, race historian, and Lisa Haight, author of Tall Tales from Pikes Peak, will present historic photos, interesting stories and anecdotes spanning a century of auto racing competition on Pikes Peak. Topics will include the history of the event, changes to the course, improvements in safety, the progression of automotive technology and behind the scenes stories to name a few.

Retro Gaming Day

Where: Manitou Springs Library at Lower Level

Interactive monthly gaming featuring: Atari 2600, Original Nintendo, Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis, Nintendo 64, Playstation 1, Playstation 2, and Nintendo Gamecube.

Players get to choose their console and game to play.

Sign up for a time slot the day of the event.
15 minute time slots, multiple players may stack time up to 30 minutes for team play with friends.
