Storytime

Children ages 3 and up, with a favorite adult, experience stories through books, flannelboard, puppets, songs and activities. This program encourages emerging reading skills by engaging children with shapes, sounds, rhythm and rhyme in a playful environment. Stay after for a special make-and-take craft!

Stay and Play Story Time

Come read, rhyme and rock! A very interactive storytime that engages children ages two to five and their favorite adults in stories and songs in which everyone participates. After storytime, we invite you to stay and play with us! We’ll have fun toys, games and activities to enhance your child’s early literacy learning!

Join us afterschool for fun, crafts, games and activities! Remember, for their safety, children ages 11 and under must bring an adult or responsible caregiver who is at least 12 years old with them to the library.

1 and 2 year old children, with a favorite adult, participate in nursery rhymes, music and movement and listen to a few short books. Toddler Time builds on familiar experiences to introduce new vocabulary and word sounds in a lively atmosphere.

Homeschool Lunch Bunch "Read It Before You See It" Book Club

When: Tuesday, September 16, 2014 - 11:30 AM - 1:30 PM
Where: Fountain Library - 230 S. Main Street at Fountain Meeting Room

Homeschool families bring a sack lunch to enjoy. We'll focus on different book each month, with a brief discussion followed by the movie adaptation. All books chosen will have G or PG movie ratings. We encourage you to read the book together as a family before the program. Books for the upcoming month will be available at each program for checkout. September's book is "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" by C. S. Lewis. The movie, "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe," is 143 minutes, rated PG.

Bright from the Start Parent Child Workshop

When: Tuesday, September 16, 2014 - 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM
Where: Fountain Library - 230 S. Main Street at Fountain Meeting Room

For children ages birth-5 with a favorite adult. Spend time together, play, experience art activities and meet new friends. Community Resource Specialists will discuss topics on child development, speech and hearing, nutrition, play and movement. This workshop meets on Wednesday mornings for a five week session, Sept. 17th-Oct. 24th. Please plan on attending all five session dates. Siblings are welcome. Registration is required. Please register each child who will be attending.

Join us for a free movie for the whole family. Popcorn and lemonade served. Children may wear pajamas and bring a blanket, pillow or soft toy from home. In September, join us for the snowboarding Disney Channel movie, Cloud 9. 87 minutes and Not Rated, but very family friendly!
