Reiki for You

Share in an engaging, expansive and energetic evening learning about the history and practice of Reiki. You’ll learn simple hands on techniques to help you and your loved ones reduce stress, create balance and promote healing. Registration required.

Reiki is an energetic healing practice developed in Japan in the early 1900s by Dr. Mikayo Usui. It means “Universal Life Force” and aides in the healing of our physical, mental, emotional, and etheric bodies. It is used all over the world in homes, offices, clinics, and hospitals to aid physical and mental health and spiritual growth. Reiki is the physics of the Universe’s Divine Love.

Valerie Brodar is a Reiki Master and urban farmer who offers Reiki sessions for people and animals, energetic home and office clearings, Akashic Records readings, earth healing and urban farming consultations.

Healthy Food for the New Year: Hummus & Tabbouleh

Learn how to make your own hummus and tabbouleh with simple and healthy ingredients. Registration required.

The Middle Eastern diet often falls under the category of a Mediterranean diet, which incorporates the foods and cuisines of the countries bordering the Mediterranean Sea. This diet has gotten praise for its role in keeping the body healthy and staving off chronic disease, especially cardiovascular problems.

Hummus is a Levantine and Egyptian food dip or spread made from cooked, mashed chickpeas or other beans, blended with tahini, olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, and salt.

Tabbouleh is a Middle Eastern vegetarian dish traditionally made of tomatoes, finely chopped parsley, mint, bulgur, and onion, and seasoned with olive oil, lemon juice, and salt.
