Special Collections
PPLD's Special Collections contains regional history and genealogy documents that are collected and housed in the 1905 Carnegie building adjacent to Penrose Library.

Collections:
Regional History - Documents over 115 years of the history and development of Colorado Springs and the Pikes Peak region within the framework of the Rocky Mountain West.
Genealogy - Over 10,000 books and related materials, including resources for genealogical research for the United States and Canada.
Manuscripts and Archives - Papers and records of local businesses, organizations, clubs and individuals.
Pamphlets and Ephemera - Publications by local individuals, agencies, organizations, businesses and churches.
Research and Reference Services - Staff are available to assist in the identification and location of materials.
Gifts and Donations - The richness of our collections depends on the generosity of our patrons. Please contact (719) 531-6333 x2300 for more information.
Preservation and Conservation - Information and referrals for preservation and conservation of paper and photographic materials.
The following restrictions apply to use of these materials:
- Items do not circulate and are not available for interlibrary loan.
- Photocopying may be restricted due to fragility of materials and/or copyright restrictions.
- Archives, manuscripts, and vault material may not be photocopied, photographed, videotaped, or reproduced by any electronic means.
- Some materials require advance notice to view.
- Fees may apply for use of some materials.
