Presenter Bios
John Stansfield is a storyteller and author who began exploring western North America as a boy in 1960 and has never stopped. He loves hiking and skiing the West and telling stories about its diverse lands, wildlife and people. John is the author of "Writers of the American West: Multicultural Learning Encounters" which earned a Colorado Authors League Award and was a finalist for the Colorado Book Award. He is the author of "Enos Mills: Rocky Mountain Naturalist." Mr. Stansfield teaches storytelling on the adjunct faculty of the University of Colorado - Colorado Springs. He presents a one-man shows for all ages reenacting the life of Enos Mills and of Colorado pioneering physician, Dr. Charles Fox Gardiner. John's efforts to protect and preserve Colorado's wild places earned the Environmental Heroes Award from the Wilderness Society in 2004. John and his wife Carol live in Larkspur, Colorado.
