All Pikes Peak Read: Will Rogers Film Fest

Between 1918 and 1935, Will Rogers made 71 films. Dr. Doug Watson, in character as Rogers, will make comments on two of these films: They Had to See Paris (1929) and Down to Earth (1932). Will looks at his treatments of the economy and family values in these films and also serves up the classic short Ropin’ Fool (1921), a spoof on the movies and a film record of his own rope tricks.

Gwendolyn, the Graceful Pig tells the tale of Gwendolyn and Omar – two best friends who have big dreams. Gwendolyn longs to dance ballet and Omar wants to join the football team. There is just one problem – they are both pigs! Fountain Arts Center Ballet Company is excited to present this very imaginative tale promoting both literacy and movement.
