Janice Gould Selected as 2014-2016 Pikes Peak Poet Laureate

On behalf of the Pikes Peak Poet Laureate Project selection committee and program organizers, the Cultural Office of the Pikes Peak Region (COPPeR) is pleased to announce that Janice Gould has been selected as the 2014-2016 Pikes Peak Poet Laureate. An accomplished poet and educator, Dr. Gould is an associate professor in Women’s and Ethnic Studies at the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs, where she developed and directs the concentration in Native American Studies. “I'm honored, very pleased, and looking forward to becoming the next ambassador for poetry in our community,” said Dr. Gould. She will succeed Price Strobridge, who served as Pikes Peak Poet Laureate from 2012-2014.
