Adobe Premiere - Beyond the Basics

This class is designed for those who have already taken the "Video Editing Basics" or are already familiar with the Adobe Premiere Pro interface. Topics include an overview of the various trimming tools (ripple, rolling, slip, slide), compositing, working with green screen footage, using keyframes, basic color correction, and more.

Patrons 9 - 13 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.

For those new to video editing, this introductory editing class will get you up and running with Adobe Premiere CC. We will cover a range of topics from navigating the interface, importing assets, working with sequences and timelines, applying titles and effects, and exporting your finished edit.

Photography For Creatives: Digital Editing Workshop

This Month We will be having a workshop on digital editing. Tips and Tricks to add that special final touch to your photographs using Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom. We will have demos from various members of our group.

Introduction to Recording into Avid Protools

Intro to Recording explains the function of recording in ProTools, understanding the parameters to setup a successful recording and demonstrating a variety of tips and shortcuts to make recording and mixing easier. The instructor will demonstrate how to record tracks/playlists and show examples of recorded material.

Introduction To The PreSonus StudioLive 16 Mixer

The PreSonus mixer class will be an in-depth review of the Studio 21c's PreSonus mixer. We will discuss signal flow, routing and various uses of the mixer so that patron's are able to better utilize it for their in-house projects.

The History of Music in Film: the Art of Film Scoring

From Max Steiner to Berhard Herrmann, from John Williams to Hans Zimmer, join us for a fun and informative trip through the history of film music from the early days of the silents (which were never really silent) up to today's big action blockbusters. Learn about how music is often a prime voice in the storytelling art, influencing our emotions, adding subtext, and even affecting our perceptions of time and character. Far from a boring lecture, this will be a fun and fast paced presentation featuring lots of film clips and music examples. Hosted by award winning film composer and sound designer John Schuermann.

From Mind to Film: The Pre-Production/Production Process

From Mind to Film will focus on some of the basic elements, techniques, and chronological steps needed to create a professional video product. We will discuss the pre-production process and the importance of the message as developed through script, shot-sheet, and storyboard. We will also focus on the elements that distract and those that enhance the production through framing, audio, lighting, environment, and other techniques. Through visual, animated, and audio examples, this beginners course will teach you the steps needed to kick-start your production into full gear and to completion.

Introduction To Mixing in ProTools

Avid ProTools has been the leading industry standard software in recording, editing and mixing audio for the past 15+ years. The Intro to Mixing in ProTools class is an in-depth review of basic mixing techniques including EQ, Compression, Gates, FX, and setting Pans/Levels. The class will show the progression of mixing from Start (importing tracks) to Finish (finalizing the mix for Mastering). Each attendee will receive a link to download the session to practice their own mixing as well as a copy of the final mix from class.

Hello I am interested in getting to learn graphic design and videos editing.. I have a small business and am interested in doing videos for my website and social media Stires ... are there any classes accompanied to this ?

Good day and thank you for your question. In regards to video editing, we do have an excellent beginners program on Adobe Premiere. The next session will be on March 13th either from 9-noon or 6-9 p.m. To sign-up for this course simply go to PPLD.org/studio and click on the classes link. From there you can go to the desired course and time and click on that link. This will open up a registration form that you fill out. Once you submit you are in. As for graphic design, we do not have a specific class offering this however the library does have Lynda.com accounts available to those who live in the PPLD district and who have a valid library card. Or will there be a Monday morning class during the week of March 26th 2018?

For now the editing classes are only being offered on Monday mornings. If you have specific editing questions or would like to schedule some one-on-one instruction time, please email us at studio@ppld.org with your preferred schedule and we'll see what we can set up for you.
