Outreach

Outreach Statement

Pikes Peak Library District’s activities executed as part of outreach efforts work to support the Library’s mission and strategic goals by meeting people where they are. Participation in outreach activities positions PPLD as an active community contributor and connects us to the public through in person dialogue that allows us to provide information relevant to the needs and interests of the community.

Types of Outreach

PPLD participates in various outreach activities including community events, festivals and expos, select Library District staff as speakers at luncheons and meetings, engagement with school districts through booktalks and presentations to students and faculty, and more. When considering potential outreach opportunities, PPLD is looking at the following criteria:

  • Aligns with the Library’s mission and goals
  • Opportunity to increase the Library’s exposure in the community and promote the Library’s resources
  • Non-commercial in nature, and does not include the solicitation of products or services.
  • Available to all patrons regardless of age, race, religion, familial beliefs, sexual orientation, gender identity, or political affiliation

We also take into consideration the type of outreach requested, staff availability, estimated attendance, costs and fees, and target audience of event or activity. If interested in having PPLD participate in your outreach event or activity, please contact the Community Partnership Coordinator with any applicable supporting documents. Please submit request for outreach in a reasonable amount of time prior to the proposed date of outreach activity.
