Participating writers include those writing fiction (multiple genres), personal essay, and nonfiction. If you would benefit from meeting with other writers who genuinely want to talk about writing and help other writers; if you would benefit from learning craft techniques; or if you would benefit from the writing exercises, then we'd love to have you. No RSVP is needed.

Hello,

You may want to check with the Denver Public Library for writer's workshops in the Denver area. Here is a link to their page on the subject. https://www.denverlibrary.org/category/free-tagging/lighthouse-writers-w...

There are also a number of different writer's groups in the Denver area. You may want to do an internet search for groups in your preferred area and contact them for more information. Happy writing!
Tim

At some point can ppld offer Adult writing group(s) with writing exercises for those of us that don't live way up North where all the wealthy folks live? I'd like to attend an evening group or workshop once a quarter in the evening after 6 pm but I am in the Ruth Holley ppl area. :)

Thank you so much for your interest in writing groups at PPLD! Our programming team will look into offering another writing group in the southern part of the District.

I do have a question about the "Everything changed at night.." writing competition, is it still going on? I can't seem to find it anywhere on the page. I thought it ended on July 31st.

Hello!
The deadline for entering the Teen Writing Contest was June 25th. We will be having another one next year, so look for entry details next May!

Thanks,

Hello! The winners will be announced at the Teen Writing Contest Awards Ceremony on Thursday, July 27th, beginning at 6:30pm at Penrose Library in the Carnegie Reading Room. We will also post them on the website.

I'm really interested in improving my creative writing skills, but there are so few classes, all of them on weekdays, right after school, and far away from my house. I'd love to come to one closer (maybe Penrose or the one in Old Colorado City). I feel like smaller/older libraries get less attention, so if we could get more workshops down here, more people would be able to come. Also, if your target audience is teens, then maybe you should think about providing classes/workshops on weekends or not right after school.
Thank you!

Hello Jordan,
Thank you so much for your interest in our writing groups. We really appreciate your feedback about programs and where and when we have them. As we develop new programs we will take that into consideration - I've passed your feedback on to the staff at those locations.
