I manage a day program for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and I wanted to let you know that Karaoke was a colossal hit with our group! Please offer it more often!

Hi Cat! Thanks for your comment. We will definitely consider offering more karaoke programs in the future.

I know that afternoon events are not well attended, but I work with a lady who is not able to participate unless its in the afternoon. If you could offer even one opportunity a month around 2pm, that would be wonderful! We'd do our best to get there.

Hi Charlotte,
Thanks for your comment. We've recently changed all of the Library Explorers start times to 10-10:30 a.m. since the majority of groups and their care providers are out in the community at that time. We'll continue to evaluate whether an afternoon program might be of interest to more groups and consider changing the schedule if it looks like more can attend in the future.
For activities in the afternoon, check out our Library Explorers kits available at Cheyenne Mountain, East, Fountain, Library 21c, Manitou Springs, Monument, Old Colorado City, Penrose, Rockrimmon, Ruth Holley and Sand Creek. Kits are filled with a variety of craft supplies, tablets and games for patron use. If you'd like to see anything specific in the kits, please let staff know or contact me at

Our special needs company has an afternoon program also, so an afternoon time would work well for us, too.

Hi Laurie,

Thanks for your comment. It's great to hear there are more afternoon programs out there! If you'd like to talk more about possible times and library locations, please give me a call at 719-531-6333 X 6077 or send me an email at

We might consider offering an afternoon option again if there is enough interest in the community.
