Regional History and Genealogy - PPLD's Special Collections
Regional history and genealogy collections at Pikes Peak Library District are held by Special Collections in the 1905 Carnegie Library. The Regional History collection includes books, maps, manuscripts and archives, photographs, oral histories, films and videos, government documents, pamphlets, periodicals, and other materials related to the history of the Pikes Peak region. The Genealogy collection contains extensive family history research materials, covering the entire United States from Colonial times to the present, including books, periodicals, and access to major genealogical databases.

Genealogy 101: Organization

Discovering your ancestral past can be an awesome adventure. But where do you start? As with any successful journey one must start with preparation. Come gather the necessary equipment for this exciting adventure. Organization, Forms, and Standards, Personal Database Software, Source Analysis, Citing Sources, Taking Notes, Home and Family Sources, Interviewing and Correspondence all will be discussed so that you can take those first steps confidently into your ancestral past.

Introductory DNA Testing and Analysis Class

This is an introductory class on DNA testing and analysis (genetic genealogy) for the purposes of tracing your ancestry and family history. Completion of the PPGS Level 1 Genealogy course is required. Due to limited space, pre-registration is required with liverman@att.net.
